Encompassing the five disciplines of Dressage, Jumping, Cutting, Reining and Campdrafting this event will showcase the best of the Australian competitors.
The EQUITANA Australian Open will begin on Thursday with the ever popular Grand Prix Dressage opening the program in true style. The Freestyle component of the event will be displayed on Saturday evening during the CDI World Cup Dressage Qualifier where 12 of Australia’s top Dressage horses & riders will display agility, finesse and mastery of movement striving to produce the perfect dressage test.
EQUITANA Melbourne Australian Open will proudly feature Reining on Friday evening alongside Cutting under the iconic NutriRice Grand Pavilion rooftop. A night of elite competition, 15 of Australia’s top Reining horses & riders and 30 of Australia’s top Cutting horses & riders will showcase their athletic talents demonstrating high adrenaline action and exhilarating combinations.
The challenge of the traditional Australian sport of Campdrafting will be showcased on Sunday afternoon on the Outdoor Competition Arena.Not only cutting a cow from its herd, but directing it in a series of patterns, the Campdrafter will demonstrate skills still utilised today.
In an exciting finale to EQUITANA Melbourne, 30 of Australia’s top Jumping horses & riders will pit their high flying expertise against a technical course which will test both their skills and courage during this Grand Prix Jumping Competition. Come along to see which riders complete the course cleanly during this nail-biting conclusion to EQUITANA Melbourne 2010.
This truly exciting competition format with a collective prize pool of $300,000 is sure to help the EQUITANA Australian Open become the premier competition event both in the hearts of the competitors and the audience Australian wide.
