The EQUITANA Australian Open is EQUITANA’s premier elite competition series for Barrel Racing, Cutting, Reining, Dressage, Jumping and Exhibition Eventing.
EQUITANA offers the unique and dynamic competition portfolio for Australia’s six major competition disciplines to all compete under the one event across the four-days of EQUITANA this November. Boasting some of the richest prize money in the sport within Australia and featuring the country's top competitors, EQUITANA will see the best of the best face off for the Australian Open titles.
With a European style atmosphere which is unique to EQUITANA, this is one of few opportunities for Australian riders to engage in an electric and intimate competition environment, complete with a full scale audio-visual production.
EQUITANA’s Grand Prix dressage events have FEI World Cup™ qualifying status. The Horseware Australia Jumping competition is held at Grand Prix level with over $120,000 prize money on offer, and the Exhibition Eventing is run at two-star level, thus attracting the pinnacle of Australia’s elite riders, making this a feast for spectators.
For the first time, the Grand Prix Show Jumping will be held outdoors on the Rowville Outdoor Arena on Friday at 5pm, ahead of Friday Night’s CDI-W Grand Prix Dressage Freestyle in the Aqualuma Grand Pavilion at 7:30pm. The elite course will be designed by show jumping legend Gavin Chester, with acclaimed Cross Country Designer Ewan Kellett taking the reins to build the Exhibition Eventing course.
With prize money on offer across the six disciplines upwards of $250,000, this is the largest prize pool ever on offer for equestrian sports in Australia! The 2018 EQUITANA Australian Open is on track to be one of the most thrilling features of the event and one you won’t want to miss.
