Feature Event - 'Full Flight' Evening Entertainment
The Great Wall of Melbourne Puissance Wall will be taking centre stage in the Aqualuma Grand Pavilion Thursday evening from 7.30pm. This is the high jump competition of the equine world and there is a massive $80,000 in prize money for anyone who can break the 39-year-old world record of 2.32m set by Gavin Chester. Ten of Australia’s top riders will tackle the wall with the starting height of 1.7m – from there the sky is the limit!
Another feature of the night is the One-on-One Knock-Out Slalom. Australia’s top jumping riders will be racing a mirrored course designed by Gavin Chester, two at a time. The first across the line with the fewest faults will go through to the next round. The knock-out style format means that eventually the two fastest riders will face-off for the final and the winner will be crowned CHAMPION.
Everyone’s favourite mini-duo Crunchtime and Lippy will be on hand to guide the crowd and the elite jumpers through the slalom course before the competition starts. Their owner and EQUITANA Melbourne Social Ambassador, Hannah Pikkat, will also have them keep the audience captivated with a liberty display between competitions.
