The Percheron Horse is a draught horse of immense power yet kind and gentle disposition.

Predominantly black or dappled grey. 

The Percheron has an innate intelligence, boldness of character, tempered with a gentle willingness to perform well under all conditions. Today Percheron’s are bred extensively with performance horses to add size, strength and hardiness, a calm, mellow temperament, versatility, trainability and sensibility. A perfect, low maintenance allrounder for any chosen discipline.

Horses have existed on the Timor Island since at least the 6th century.  In 1292 Kublai Khans armies brought a mixture of Mongol horses when they invaded the Indonesian Islands. The intermixing of Portugese breeds of horses when the Portugese coloniesed eventually developed the hardy Timor Pony.

It is a culturally significant horse breed to Australia, because having been used to living in tropical environments, they thrived in Australia and were often used to develop the Australian Breeds.

Those who know the breed will claim the Standardbred is one of the worlds’ best kept secrets. A breed that in addition to being the fastest horse in harness also excels under saddle and faces every task asked of it with gentleness, patience and a bottomless heart.

The Paint Horse Association of Australia was formed to register, promote and keep records on a definite type of coloured horse – ”Something more than colour’.  A horse with Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred bloodlines  is the basis of the Paint Horse breed. This in itself may well account for the continuous growth of the PHAA. Members are breeding for bloodline, temperament, conformation and ability as well as colour.

The Australian Pony is an Equine Breed of Australia, influenced by the native British horses, the Welsh pony in particular. 

Australian Ponies are most commonly used as children’s show mounts, or for small adult riders. They can compete in most disciplines, including combined driving, gymkhanas, show jumping, dressage and mounted games, but you will most often seem them in the show hunter arena, where their combination of good looks, movement and temperament comes to the fore.

The Brumby – Australian Heritage Horses

These brumbies have been removed from the Kosciuszko National Park by NPWS as part of the Kosciuszko Wild Horse Heritage Act 2018.

Heritage Horses in Harmony are registered rehomers who provide brumbies with a ‘soft landing’, veterinary care, education and individual assessments to prepare them for their new lives in appropriate domestic homes.

Brumbies are amazingly resilient, inquisitive, loyal and versatile characters who are very trainable.

The Cleveland Bay originated in NE England, specifically the area of Cleveland. It is one of the oldest horse breeds in England.. Cleveland Bay can be easily identified by their bay colour, feature an distinguished, well-proportioned head, a powerful  neck, solid body, and powerful legs with good flat bone; minimum 9 1/2 inches, trainable working temperament and are versatile and lends themselves to a wide variety of equine pursuits as pure and cross-breds.

They are critically endangered.
