David Cowley was raised on a guest ranch in the Canadian Rockies. It’s here that he had the opportunity to discover his love of horses and working with people from all over the world. He grew up with a herd of 80 horses, where he developed his techniques of reading and training horses. Also blessed to meet and work with people from all over the world.
His techniques for training horses through trust and understanding has been his calling card. David has garnered a strong reputation as a horseman, quietly accruing many accomplishments and opportunities with horses, ranging from competition success, special appearances, demos and work as an Actor, Stuntman and Wrangler in many large-scale film productions. He has been able to teach horses to be confident and relaxed in all sorts of environments and situations.
David has mainly built his reputation as a clinician through word of mouth. Teaching clinics across Canada, USA, Australia and New Zealand with requests for Israel, South Africa, UK, Sweden and Germany. Training riders and horses of all kinds of different breeds and backgrounds with his techniques to develop trusting, safe and confident horses.
A founding Member of the National Cowboy Challenge Association along with Kim Peterson. The NCCA is focused on developing all-around horses that can successfully compete across other Western equine disciplines. Following a similar judging format as major equine sports such as NRHA, NCHA, NRCHA and AQHA

Discussing my techniques for building trusting partnerships with horses, through the process of training body controls and how I introduce obstacles.
This is a process I’ve developed through my lifetime that has allowed me to achieve astonishing feats with horses. I lay it out how I build that foundation in a simple and concise approach.
