Georgia Kolovos
Training
Georgia began training horses professionally in 2010 when she took on a 7 year old wild Brumby stallion. This experience sparked a love for wild horses & horsemanship. Georgia sought out knowledge from other trainers & grew her business G.C. Natural Horsemanship from a hobby to a career which has seen her train horses in Australia, Canada & the USA.
Georgia is the only trainer in Australia who has competed in both the Australian Brumby Challenge & the Extreme Mustang Makeover in the USA. She is an advocate for wild horses, promoting them around the world as quality riding horses. Georgia is passionate about good horsemanship & helping people to be safe & enjoy their horses. She, alongside husband Jimmy, trains horses & teaches clinics & lessons while also training Brumbies for re-homing. The foundation horsemanship, liberty work & trick training that Georgia teaches is all about developing a solid foundation & a wonderful partnership with your horse, so that people are safe, horses are relaxed & willing & fun is had by all!
Georgia is also passionate about starting colts with quality horsemanship based on feel, timing & balance. She has been working very hard over the past few years to really excel her colt starting abilities to give the horse the best deal she can whilst setting it up for a great future as a riding horse. Georgia has been learning & advancing her skills & knowledge under her mentor Steve Burke who helped her to be successful in her participation in the 2019 The Way Of The Horse colt starting competition at EQUITANA Auckland. Georgia hopes to compete in many more colt starting events in the future. As well as being a full time trainer training other people’s horses Georgia is mum to toddler Piper, but also finds time to compete in Extreme Cowboy Racing on her personal horses. Georgia loves using obstacles in her training & finds them a great tool for building confidence in a horse. With husband Jimmy she travels all around Victoria to compete.
