Training & Horsemanship
Chloe Phillips-Harris is a bestselling author, adventurer, expedition leader, and horse rider hailing from New Zealand. However, at her core, she is foremost a horsewoman. Chloe’s love and understanding of horses have catapulted her to the pinnacle of eventing, where she has excelled not only in competing at the highest levels but also in working with a diverse array of horses, ranging from wild to sport horses.
Chloe specialises in aiding clients in fostering a deeper comprehension of horses and overcoming behavioural challenges. With extensive experience in the saddle and adventurous expeditions to remote corners of the world, she has amassed over 7000km of riding in Mongolia alone. Chloe’s achievements include leading two crossings of Mongolia in 2023 and 2024, using camels, horses, reindeer, and yaks. She also conquered the world’s toughest horse race, The Mongol Derby, in 2013.
Chloe has left an indelible mark as a trailblazer. She pioneered and led the world’s coldest camel expedition at -40°C, attended the World Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan, collaborated with cowboys in Kazakhstan, and contributed significantly to animal welfare in developing countries. Spearheading programs in Fiji, lent her expertise in Egypt and India, showcasing her commitment to the well-being of animals.
She set up world’s longest miniature horse race, a 100km adventure race, designed to give a second chance to small horses in need of rehabilitation and assistance. This race also provides people from all walks of life, from extreme athletes to first-timers, a unique opportunity to connect with horses in wild places.
It is through her compassionate approach, working with horses ranging from the domesticated to the untamed, that Chloe has cultivated a profound understanding of horse behaviour. Her experiences have illuminated the true capabilities of horses and underscored the immense significance of the horse-human connection.
