Larissa Bilston
Horse Health / Care
Larissa grew up in regional Victoria and has a lifetime passion for horses, dogs, cats, sheep, goats and dairy cows. After the freedom of riding ponies through the local pine forests and at pony club, as an older teenager, she fell in love with the discipline of dressage.
Larissa graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Agricultural Science degree and began her career working in animal nutrition in the beautiful Northern Rivers region of NSW. She moved to Brisbane some years later, and acclimatised her Victorian horses into a subtropical climate with high oxalate grasses – a big learning curve! Larissa has travelled throughout Australia and internationally as both a science communicator and equine nutritionist.
She is a founding partner of Farmalogic Pty Ltd, for whom she developed a comprehensive range of vitamins, minerals and supportive nutritional supplements for horses of all ages, breeds and disciplines. An aspect of work that Larissa continues to thrive on is helping horse owners find diets that optimise their horse’s health and performance. She lives in Brisbane with her husband and younger two children and still maintains a menagerie of pets!
