Nathan Marshall
Horse Health / Care
Nathan is one half of the husband and wife team that are Innate Equine. Nathan is an Equine Podiotherapist and Nadine is an Equine Naturopath. Having both been in practice for close to 15 years, not only working in the field (in our individual roles) but also running a rehabilitation centre, primarily for laminitis cases and other health issues that were beyond the care of owners at home.
From humble beginnings we built a very successful business where we formulated and manufactured a range of natural equine health care products, which were (and still are) sold Australia wide. After 10 years, we made the big decision to sell up, essentially handing over the name we’d worked so hard to establish, but our hearts nudged us to focus more on education.
Holistic equine management/care is what we’re both passionate and nerdy about. It is also inextricably rooted in equine evolution – dictating how and why every part of their physiology (and behaviour) is what it is today. Forget for a moment what is convenient for us, and keep coming back to what innately makes a horse a horse. As practitioners, this is not only our immutable and historical compass, but the very cornerstone to having a healthy, happy, domesticated horse in the modern age. If there is one message we’d like to inspire people with, it would be to not forget this.
Over the last several years we have hosted and given a range of clinics and educational workshops, and we’re very pleased EQUITANA is welcoming us back once again.

Dealing with Seedy Toe
Most people who have horses, at one point or another, have had to deal with seedy toe. Some have only ever experienced mild cases, which seem relatively harmless. Often people learn to live with it as it just never seems to go away!
Seedy Toe (or White Line Disease) can be everything from:
– an inconvenient crack in an otherwise neat hoof
– a large invasion that spreads through the ‘white-line’ making it difficult to maintain a usable hoof
– a major infection causing recurring abscesses, which can eventually infect the coffin bone leading to permanent damage and lameness.
In this presentation, we’ll look at what it is, how it starts, how to get rid of it, and how to prevent it!

Paddock Paradise / Track Systems
Paddock Paradise / Track systems emerged from studying the roaming, grazing & survival behaviours of wild horses, giving valuable insight for domestic horses. With metabolic issues steeply on the rise, we’ve reached a fundamental shift in horse-keeping, every bit worthy of a renaissance.
Literally EVERYTHING about how a horse evolved directly dictates how it’s body functions and how the horse instinctively interacts with the world. Domestic life challenges much of this, therefore not surprisingly, a myriad of problems arise (physical & mental). PP / Track systems are an important missing link. They offer practical and realistic solutions to domestic related health issues and can be of benefit to ALL horses, being completely life changing for many.
Find out why track systems are growing in demand all over the world, discover how and why they’re so beneficial and just how easy it is to set up a basic ‘track’. These systems are where the ways of the wild horse and the domestic horse intersect! Come and get inspired!
