Racing Victoria’s (RV’s) Off The Track program was launched in 2012 and aims to facilitate the placement of retired thoroughbred racehorses into second careers.
The Off The Track program promotes and supports a network of Acknowledged Retrainers across the state of Victoria and educates racing and equestrian communities about the various life after racing options, versatility of use and the appropriate care and retraining of the thoroughbred.
The Off The Track program drives demand for the thoroughbred through an extensive event sponsorship program, this includes partnerships with Equestrian Victoria, Pony Club Association of Victoria and the Horse Riding Clubs Association of Victoria to ensure suitable incentives exist for re-educating and riding Off The Track horses.
The introduction of the Off The Track Community in 2021 has improved RV’s visibility of former racehorses across Victoria, as well as offering members a variety of exclusive content and educational tools to support their passion for the thoroughbred.
