Welcome to the world of Godolphin and what it can offer you.

Meet global racing star HARTNELL, Godolphin Lifetime Care Flagbearer at Equitana Breed Village.

Success may be defined on the racetrack but beyond the headlines there is so much more to the world of Godolphin. From supporting our local communities to sponsoring educational and vocational programmes, Godolphin seeks to create awareness, passion and care for the thoroughbred and nurture both our industry and the people that surround us.

While horses may be at the heart of our business – and we will ensure that they are nurtured from birth to retirement and beyond – it is vital that all those involved in the equine world are cared for too.

Who is Godolphin

Godolphin is a global thoroughbred breeding and racing organisation, founded by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Ruler of Dubai. Godolphin founded in 1992 spans four continents, Dubai to Europe, Australia, America and Japan. Godolphin’s name is from one of the three stallions imported to England in the 17th and 18th centuries – the Byerley Turk, the Darley Arabian, and the Godolphin Arabian. Godolphin was established in Australia in 2001 and today, comprises of three historical studs and three state of the art racing stables located in Victoria and NSW.

Godolphin stands some 18-24 stallions a year, including EXCEED AND EXCEL and LONHRO, affectionately known by the Australian racing public as the ‘Black Flash’. New to the Darley stallions’ roster for this year’s breeding season includes European champions PALACE PIER, PINATUBO AND VICTOR LUDORUM.

Caring for our horses – Godolphin Lifetime Care

Godolphin Lifetime Care fosters a global ethos of caring for and celebrating the Thoroughbred’s career after racing. Whether our horses are top performers on the course, parenting the next generation at stud or retirees pursing new careers, all our horses are to receive high quality, compassionate attention. Godolphin works with our partners worldwide to promote passion and care for thoroughbreds so they can continue to enjoy happy, fulfilling lives long after their days at the racetracks and on our stud farms are over. Retired Thoroughbred racehorses are versatile, adaptable and agile. A well retrained Thoroughbred can excel in many disciplines off the track such as dressage, jumping, polo, western, pleasure riding or as a companion horse. The
Thoroughbred is an invaluable partner of equine therapy and education programs.
